Raistlin, Mage of DragonLance legend, challenges you to master the stones. A game of magical energy and test of skill.

Place your gem stones on the board and force your opponents' stones off. Attain the highest rank by being the first player to place all your stones on the board. Each stone symbolizes magical energy. The board itself represents the world of magic; horizontal rows of schools of magic and vertical rows of planes of existence.

Each placing symbolises an investment of magical energy from a particular school on a plane. As the stones accumulate, they form a pattern of magic and power. Try to create a pattern that dominates the others while protecting itself against attack.

An easy to learn, fun filled game of chance and skill.

The Lore of the Mage Stones;
By the time of Raistlin and the War of the Lance, Mage stones were little more than a curiosity. It was believed that they served some important function prior to the cataclysm but its nature was lost. They are mentioned briefly in several important but fragmentary, writings from that period, always in connection with the inner planes or the various schools of magic.

Out of these references grew the game of the Mage's stones. Initially played to sharpen the wits of apprentice wizards and familiarize them with certain important concepts, it gradually grew into something much larger. As additional symbolism was layered onto the basic school of magic / plane of existence structure, the game became the ultimate non-magical challenge between wizards.

(Since wizards prefer to settle their affairs magically, however, it was a challenge rarely invoked. Its appeal was that it allowed persons of widely varying magical ability to compete on more or less equal footing).
