Kalookie is a type of Rummy. Cards are points, ace 11, court cards 10, other cards face value, Joker 15 or face value of replaced card. The winner is the last player with </= 150 points.
Players place 6 matchsticks or counters in the kitty. An additional matchstick is paid to the winner. If the winning hand is Kalookie, players must pay double.

Players are dealt 13 cards, the remaining cards are placed face down. The top card is turned face up to form a discard pile. The aim is to lay down sets of 3 or 4 cards of the same face value or runs in the same suit.

Single player games use only 1 pack of cards and 2 Jokers. More players use 2 packs of cards and 4 Jokers.
