Players represent Great Britain, the US, West Germany and France in the Olympics and compete in field and track events to become the Olympic champion.

Each national Olympic team has one athlete for each of running, jumping and throwing events.
The games board has two sections;
- an outer circuit where markers representing the Olympic teams land on squares to choose an event
- the Olympic arena in the centre of the board where the events take place.
The events are Running (100m sprint, 200m sprint and 400m hurdle), Throwing (shot put, hammer and javelin) and Jumping (long jump, triple jump and pole vault).
Olympic medals are awarded and displayed on the Olympic scoreboard. The player with most medals wins.
