This is a game of military tactics between two players, set in the
Peninsula Wars. Under normal circumstances, the game will end when the french Eagle or South Essex colour is captured. Victory can also be claimed if an opponent is unable to move any piece. Stalemate positions are also possible; then the player with the highest total value of pieces still in play is the winner. |

This is a modern adaptation of a classic strategy game known as L'Attaque.
The game features many characters made famous in the books of Bernard
Cromwell and the TV drama series starring Sean Bean as Major Richard Sharpe. The english force is led by Major Richard Sharpe and the french force by General Calvet. All the english playing pieces and most of the French playing pieces have an individual rank and name. In the rules leaflet, many of these personnel are described in some detail. The game features fighting men from the complete Sharpe series. The card playing pieces are beautifully illustrated by military artist Edward Dovey. A rare game. |
